Ward and Judy Forsyth

"When I was little my favorite thing was to stay at their house for a week in the summer.   Me and grandma would go for walks every night and play with kitties, which I loved!  Grandpa let me ride the four wheelers around his yard as much as I wanted and every night after dinner we would make a milkshake in the blender or drive into Salina to get a shake!! Loved it!"

"I love my grandma and grandpa.  I was so lucky to live in the same town with them and see them often.  They are so loving and giving to those they are around.  Anytime I go to visit grandma welcomes me with open arms and excitement to hear what is new.  With the holidays close a memory that comes to mind is of our family Christmas parties and everyone gathering around and playing songs on the piano or singing and enjoying everyone's company.  I am so grateful for grandma and grandpa for making their home so warm and welcoming."

"When I think of their house I think of when we were all kids and would line up mattresses along the floor downstairs and all sleep together or watch movies or play games."

"I remember grandpa always in his chair when we could come in the door to their house and him telling us that he needs a hug.  When we were little he would pull a comb out of his pocket and ask me to braid his hair for him and I would tell him that he needs 3 to braid.  He always wore coveralls and whenever we would drive away from their house he and grandma would sit on their front porch and wave goodbye.  I loved going to their house and watching old movies like Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Meet me in St Louis, or My Fair Lady.  Grandpa would always let us know how important school is and sometimes give us money for getting good grades."

  2. Wow! What beautiful pictures Amber. I pretty much just bawled my eyes out while I read the little tributes. Sorry I didn't get mine to you sooner. For what it is worth...they are the perfect examples of selfless service. I will forever and always be grateful for the example they have shown all of us grandchildren. They are the sweetest! Thanks for these sweet photos you have such a beautiful talent! Love you!
