Where were you on 9/11?

Teachers had the TVs turned on before school started, but once the bell rang the TVs were off and the teachers were told not to discuss with students what was happening.
Students had to wait until they were home to talk with their parents about the events of that day.

Intermountain Indian School, Brigham City

Before the site was the Intermountain Indian School, it was Bushnell General Army Hospital for 4 years during WWII, beginning in 1943.  During that time only about 93 patients died in the hospital due to disease or injuries sustained during combat. After WWII the property was transferred to the Department of the Interior and by 1950 the Intermountain Indian School was formed.  Other than a minor riot in 1975, which resulted in 3 police officers being injured, there are no other traumatic events or deaths at the location while it was a school.
In 1984 the school closed and has been vacant ever since.  Now most of it has been torn down to build Utah State extensions.
